[Men's Track & Field] Presley, Hodge pace Rio at Ball State Challenge

Comments

Rio Grande Sports Information
MUNCIE, Ind. - Alex Presley took first place in the shot put and added two other top four showings, while Matt Hodge had a pair of second place finishes for the University of Rio Grande men's track & field team at the Ball State Challenge, which completed its two-day run on Saturday at the Briner Sports Complex.
Presley, a sophomore from Zanesville, Ohio, took top honors in the shot with a heave of 17.03m - a mark good enough for the "B" qualifying standard for the NAIA national championship later in the spring, although he's already met the "A" standard for qualification.
Presley also finished fourth in both the hammer throw (44.80m) and discus throw (47.37m).
Hodge, a sophomore from Lucasville, Ohio, took second in both the javelin throw (36.37m) and 110-meter hurdles (15.21), while also finishing seventh in the 100-meter dash (11.28).
