[Women's Cross Country] Two-Sport Fenwick Star Brianna McCormick Signs With Roosevelt Cross ...

Comments

CHICAGO – Roosevelt cross country/track and field head coach Aaron King and softball head coach Amanda Scott have announced the signing of two-sport standout Brianna McCormick (Oak Park, Ill./Fenwick H.S.) to their programs.

McCormick will run cross country in the fall and play softball in the spring.

"It takes a special athlete to be able to excel in one sport, let alone two," said King. "Coach Scott and I are both very excited to add Brianna to our rosters. Just from meeting her, I can tell she is very competitive and will push herself each practice in order to keep getting better."

The daughter of Tracy and Tony McCormick, Brianna is a 5-foot-11 pitcher who played on her high school team, the Fenwick Friars, for four years. She also played for the Chicago Out Burst travel softball organization.

"Brianna McCormick is a student-athlete that will impact the entire RU community," said Scott. "Her energy for the game and her excitement for Roosevelt is second to none.  She will give us depth on the mound and it will be exciting to watch her compete in the fall for our cross country program."
