[Men's Cross Country] Freed leads Rio men to 2nd place finish

    WILMINGTON, Ohio - The University of Rio Grande men's cross country team recorded a second place finish in Friday's Jenna Strong Fall Classic hosted by Wilmington College.
    The RedStorm tallied 116 points as a team in the 38-school field, finishing behind only rival Shawnee State's total of 75.
    Senior Blake Freed (Uhrichsville, OH) had Rio's top finish individually, placing fifth among the 399 runners on the 8k course with a time of 25:16. He was the top finisher among those runners from NAIA schools.
    The RedStorm also got top 10 showings from senior Dallas Guy (Buffalo, OH) and sophomore Kameron Carpenter (Newark, OH), who placed eighth and ninth, respectively, with times of 25:20 and 25:22.
