LIVE OAK, TEXAS (Oct. 8, 2016) – The Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) women's cross-country team placed third in the Non-Division I 5K at the UIW Invitational on Saturday at Live Oak City Park. This is the 11th annual event sponsored by NCAA DI University of the Incarnate Word.  The Saints also finished in third last year out of a slate of eight teams. This year's race featured four teams.

Head Coach Stephen Sherman commented, "The women are starting to develop into being what I thought we would be, and that excites me. Individually they are starting to look more as anticipated and seem to be coming together more as a group. If this group can figure out a way to overachieve, they may even surprise themselves."

The meet was the ninth consecutive year at Live Oak City Park and was the largest meet in school history. A total of 252 college athletes from 12 men's teams and 13 women's teams competed at the invitational.
