[Women's Outdoor Track & Field] Lady Cougars finish second at Huntington Invitational Track ...

HUNTINGTON, IN – Saturday was another solid day for the Spring Arbor University women's track and field team at the Huntington Invitational.  Two school records were set during the event with the first to fall was the 4x100m relay mark. 

The team of Ellie Reynolds, Amanda Luurtsema, Jessica Czinder, and Jessica Lee finished first with a time of 49.81 beating the old mark set in 1999 by Denise Abernathy, Mandy Malcim, Lannette Mossolle, & Amber Woolsey.  

The second of the day was set by Vanessa Rogers in the Pole vault at 11'9 beating her own record from last season of 10'10.  Roger's jump was good enough for the 'B' Standard qualifying mark for the NAIA National Championship later this spring.

Danae Dracht put together a great performance in the 5K with a time of 18:09.29 which is fourth on the Cougars All-Time list.

Ellie Reynolds finished second in the 100m hurdles with a time of 16.35 which puts Ellie fifth on the All-Time list.

Kaytlynne Kerwin's 3K Steeplechase performance put her third on the SAU All-time list with a time of 13:04.77.

Other Cougars earning points on the day were:

100m:  Amanda Luurtsema - Fourth in 12.83, Jessica Lee – Eighth in 13.04

200m: Amanda Luurtsema – Seventh in 27.06

400m: Amanda Curtis – Second in 62.25, Mary Lehman – Sixth in 65.57.

800m: Faith Gunderson – Second in 2:20.23

5K: Danae Dracht – Second in 18:09.29

100m Hurdles: Ellie Reynolds – Second in 16.35,  Nikkie Redman – Eighth in 17.78

400m Hurdles: Andrea Bogert – Fifth in 1:11.30, Ellie Reynolds – Sixth in 1:12.39, and Nikkie Redman – Seventh in 1:13.52

3K Steeplechase: Kaytlynne Kerwin – Seventh in 13:04.77

4x100m Relay: Ellie Reynolds, Amanda Luurtsema, Jessica Czinder, Jessica Lee – First in 49.81

4x400m Rebecca Donker, Faith Gunderson, Amanda Curtis, Kelly Tripp - First 4:09.17

High Jump: Kayla Finkbeiner - Sixth 4'9 ¾

Pole Vault: Vanessa Rogers – First with a height of 11'9

Long Jump: Liz Brueggeman – Seventh with a height of 15'7

Triple Jump: Kelly Tripp – Eighth with a distance of 32' 6.5,   

Shot Put: Grace Salle – Eighth with a distance of 33'10

Discus: Grace Salle – Eighth with a distance of 106'0.

Spring Arbor will head to Adrian, MI and the campus of Siena Heights University to compete in the Don Kleinow Memorial on Saturday, April 12.  That event will begin at 12:00.
