Channahon, Ill. – Junior Abel Hernandez (Alsip, Ill./Shepard) finished sixth overall with an 8K (8,000 meters) time of 26:13.4 to lead the Saint Xavier University men's cross country team Saturday morning at the 2016 Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Cross Country Championship in Channahon, Ill.  The Cougars finished ninth overall in the 14-team conference meet with a team score of 213.  SXU ends its season, but will send Hernandez as an individual qualifier to the 2016 NAIA Cross Country National Championships on Saturday, November 19, at the North Farm Cross Country Course in Elsah, Ill.  It is the third time in his collegiate career that Hernandez has qualified for the national meet.
