Channahon, Ill. – Junior Abel Hernandez (Alsip, Ill./Shepard) claimed ninth place overall with an impressive 5K (5,000 meters) time of 15:42.7 in the very competitive field Friday evening at the University of St. Francis (Ill.) Twilight Invite to lead the Saint Xavier University men's cross country team in its season-opening meet at Channahon Community Park in Channahon, Ill.  The Cougars took sixth place as a team in the 10-team meet.  NCAA Division III University of Chicago won the event with 36 points, while No. 1 ranked St. Francis (Ill.) claimed second place in the team standings with 45 points.  As a team, SXU recorded a score of 149 points.
