[Men's Track] BULLDOGS SET SIX SCHOOL RECORDS AT TENNESSEE RELAYS

Knoxville, TN. – The Bulldogs traveled last weekend to the Tennessee Relays hosted by the University of Tennessee where six new school records were set.

Senior Joseph Mullen led the charge this weekend for the Bulldogs with his performance in the 5,000m race. Mullen beat the previous school record by over thirty seconds, finishing eighth overall with a time of 14:24.65. This also beat his previous personal best by over thirty seconds as well. Mullen's time easily met the NAIA A Standard. He currently is ranked fourth in the nation for this event. 

Sophomore Avery Hubbard ran a new school record in the 100m dash. Hubbard finished sixth overall among numerous Division I athletes with a time of 10.51, which was also a NAIA A Standard. He currently is ranked ninth in the nation. Later in the meet, Hubbard also ran a NAIA A Standard in the 200m dash. Hubbard finishes fifth overall in the event with a time of 21.42.

Hubbard also anchored the men's 4x100m relay team to a new school record and a NAIA B Standard with a time of 41.83. The other three legs comprising of the relay team were freshman Cadarius Harris, junior Steven Dodd, and freshman Jake Morgenstern. They finished fifth overall.

Sophomore Chad Whitehead set a new school record and a NAIA A Standard in the 1,500m race. Whitehead finished fifth overall in his section with a time of 3:54.16. Whitehead's time ranks him 19th in the nation.

Freshman Chaz Hawkins improved on his two previous school records in the 110m hurdles and the 400m hurdles. Hawkins finished eighth overall in the 110m hurdles with a time of 14.73. This also earned Hawkins a NAIA B Standard. He then finished 15th overall in the 400m hurdles with a time of 55.98.

Sophomore Edra Gipson hit a NAIA B Standard and the school's second fastest time in the 100m dash. Gipson finished 19th overall with a time of 10.73.

Other notable performances came from sophomore Roderick Bowman and sophomore Samuel Hawkins. Bowman finished second overall in the 10,000m race with a time of 31:31.32, and Hawkins ran the second fastest time in the program's history in the 3,000m steeplechase with a time of 10:01.19.

The Bulldogs will be competing at the AAC Outdoor Conference Meet this Wednesday and Thursday at Johnson City, Tennessee hosted by Milligan College.
