[Women's Cross Country] GC men and women harriers race with meaning

Comments

Georgetown College men's and women's cross country team added a touch of extra meaning to the Kentucky Small College Championship races Saturday. The Tigers wore their hearts on their sleeves so to speak, decking out in pink bandanas and ribbons to support those battling, surviving or dealing with cancer and how it touches so many lives.

"Personally, my aunt Judy Farrow is a survivor, and I know that the rest of our team has someone close to them that has been affected by breast cancer as well," said GC coach Luke Garnett. "Our run today was in honor of all those affected."

They carried the badge of honor well. The women scoring runners posted all new season bests and two of those ran personal bests. The team finished ninth out of 13 teams and just five points behind Lindsey Wilson College, the only other Mid-South Conference team in the race.
