[Track and Field] Young Continues Transformation With All-American Distinction

WICHITA, Kan. - Volleyball was the premier sport for Aubree Young (JR/Stanta, KS), but after the season ended in 2014 she decided that she wanted to try her efforts back on the track. Young had been a decent javelin thrower during her career at Satanta High School, as she qualified for the state meet with a toss of just under 120 feet. As a junior last season Young, had high hopes of qualifying for the National Meet which had a standard of 129'. Although she came close, Young failed to qualify for the national meet as she finished her junior season with a best of 123' which placed 4th in the KCAC. After the season had ended Young was a woman on a mission - she had one more season of volleyball to compete in, and then she was determined to make the National Meet in the Javelin.
