[Men's Indoor Track & Field] Lowry establishes new school record

    RIO GRANDE, Ohio - Floyd Lowry set a new school record in the Heptathlon and established new personal-bests in three other events to lead the University of Rio Grande men's track and field team at a pair of meets last weekend.
    Lowry, a sophomore from St. Paris, Ohio, tallied a personal-best and school record 4,169 points in the Heptathlon for an overall finish of fourth place at the Fred Wilt Invitational hosted by Purdue University, last Friday, in West Lafayette, Ind.
    As part of the seven events to decide an overall winner, Lowry also set new personal records in the 1,000-meter run, shot put and high jump. He had the fastest time in the 1,000 with a mark of 2:51.28, was fifth in the shot put with a heave of 10.22m and also placed fifth in the high jump after clearing 1.81m.
