Grand Rapids, Mich. – Junior Janis Pastars (Ogre, Latvia/Cameron University/Latvia) finished 55th overall in a very competitive field of 375 collegiate runners to pace the Saint Xavier University men's cross country team at the NAIA Great Lakes Challenge hosted by Aquinas College (Mich.) Saturday morning at Riverside Park in Grand Rapids, Mich.  Pastars, one of just three runners to compete Saturday for the Cougars, completed the 8K (8,000 meters) course in a time of 27:08.78.  Senior Kyle Counter (Manhattan, Ill./Lincoln-Way Central) claimed 103rd place at 27:51.40, while sophomore Alex Ray (Crown Point, Ind./Crown Point) came across at No. 165 in a time of 28:40.68 for SXU.
