[Track & Field] Warriors Track & Field Season Kicks Off March 1st.

Rocklin, Calif. – William Jessup University Track and Field Coach Parker Daniels releases the Warriors 2014 Schedule.

For the third straight year, the Warriors kick off the season at Kim Duyst Invitational.  The Kim Duyst Invitational is hosted by Stanislaus State in Turlock. 

The Warriors will take the following weekend off, before traveling across the Causeway for the Aggie Open on March 15th.  The Aggie Open is hosted by UC Davis. 

The following the Aggie Open, the Warriors will take part in the Sacramento State Invitational at Hornet Stadium. Hornet Stadium will be the host for the 2014 USA Track & Field Championships this June. 

The Warriors will kick off April at the San Francisco Distance Carnival hosted by San Francisco State on April 4-5th.  Chico State University will host the Warriors on April 11-12th for the Chico Twilight Invitational.  On April 18th, the Warriors will compete at the Chabot/CSU-East Bay Legacy Invitational in Hayward.  The next day, the Warriors return to UC Davis for the Woody Wilson Invitational. 

The Warrior end their season at the Brutus Hamilton Invitational on April 25-26th.  The Brutus Hamilton Invitational is hosted by the University of California in Berkley. 

The California Pacific Conference Champion men's cross country team highlights a competitive Warriors Track & Field team.  Sophomore Michael Basuini, 2013 Cal Pac Champion, will lead the Warriors distance team runners.  Senior David Cummings and junior Jonathan Hernandez will look to make a big contribution in the distance races as well.  Junior Nate Ellis and sophomore Kenneth Parker lead the Warriors in the long, triple and high jump after having a great 2013 season as underclassmen.  Senior Micah Hayes will close out a solid career as the Warriors top sprinter.  Two-sport athletes Sterling Shells (basketball), Julius Smith (basketball) and Elijah Lingenfelder (soccer) will look to make solid contributions this season.

On the Women's side, cross country star Hannah Wiesner will lead a talented group of athletes.  Wiesner earned a spot at the NAIA Cross Country National Championships in 2013.  Sophomore Allyson Richmond will build off a solid cross country season as well.  Angel Mabuni, Dallas Butterfield, Emily Fernandez, Lauren Young and Tiffany Nakumara transfer over from the 2013 Cal Pac women's soccer championship team.  Fernandez and Young are the top sprinters for the Warriors.  Three volleyball players will cross over as well.  Ellie Selleck, Jennah Richmond and Sara Martinez will look to make an impact for the Warriors this season. 

It will be an exciting season for the Warriors.
