[Women's Cross Country] Women's Cross Country Earns Scholar-Athlete Recognition

KANSAS CITY, MO - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced that 335 women's cross country student-athletes have been named 2016 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athletes. 

In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status to qualify for this honor.

For the Montreat women, Abigail Chevalier and Alona Kosenko were both recognized. Chevalier is a junior from Swanton, VT who has maintained a 3.64 GPA in her Psychology and Human Services major. Kosenko is a junior Business Administration major from Charlotte, NC who currently has a 3.89 GPA.
