CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Competing at the 27-team Seminole Valley Stampede, the Viterbo University women's cross country team demonstrated significant improvement over one year ago. Running in one of the largest meets in the country, the V-Hawk harriers cut over 5:00 off their team time from 2015 and ran their fastest race since 2013 on their way to a 10th place finish. Senior Rachel Turi (SR/North Saint Paul, Minn.) and sophomore Haley Swanson (JR/Sparta, Wis.) both ran personal record times. Turi finished the 5,000 meter race in 19:25 for 26th place and was followed closely throughout the race by Swanson who finished 29th overall in 19:28.
