[Men's Track] Bulldogs win AAC Championship

Despite only winning two individual championships and two relays, the Tennessee Wesleyan College men's track & field team earned its third straight AAC Championship, Saturday at Sevier County High School. 

 

The Staff of the Year on the men's side was TWC. 

 

Day two of the AAC Championships ended with Tennessee Wesleyan collecting 172 points and beating out second-place Union (144 points) by 28 points and third-place Milligan (131 points) by 41.

 

TWC's Chaz Hawkins swept the hurdles events as he won the men's 400 meter hurdles with a new AAC record at 54.88 seconds on Saturday coupled with his victory in the 110 meter hurdles on Friday.

 

Edra Gipson and Cadarius Harris finished 2nd and 3rd respectively in the 100 meter dash, and then Cadarius finished 3rd in the 200 meter dash.  Bryce Choate finished 3rd with a time of 50.21 in the 400 meter dash and 2nd in the 800 meter run.  Jacob Simmons finished 2nd in the 1500 meter run and 4th in the 5k. 

Will Vineyard finished 3rd in the 3k SteepleChase.

The Bulldogs finished 2nd in the 4 x 100 meter relay,  won the 4x400 meter relay with a time of 3:21.9, and won the 4 x 800 relay with a time of 8:04.60. 

Jeremy Davison finished 3rd in the high jump and Justin Simmons finished 4th.  Josh Parsons finished 4th in the Long jump.  Chris Anderson competed in the shot put and the discus throw finishing 6th in each event.
