Greg Flores signs his letter of intent with his family at Leavenworth HS

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – Baker University head men’s & women’s cross country coach Tim Byers announced the signing of two future Wildcats this week, as Greg Flores of Leavenworth High School and Annie Schmucker of De Soto High School signed their national letters of intent.

“Greg and Annie are outstanding performers both in the classroom and on the cross country course and we are very excited to bring them into our Baker family,” said Byers.

Flores ran a 5K personal best 15:52 this season and chose Baker over University of St. Mary, Missouri Valley, Pittsburg State and Ottawa. He helped lead Leavenworth to a regional cross country championship and took ninth as an individual at the state championship meet. He plans to major in Biology at Baker.

Schmucker posted a personal best 20:51 5K and 15:56 4K while at De Soto and chose Baker over Hesston College.

She was part of the 2013 Girls Cross Country State Champion team at De Soto High School. She is a member of the National Honor Society and plans to major in Biology as well.
