[Cross Country] Tiger harriers using early season to get into form for conference meet

Georgetown College men's and women's cross country team took a slight detour this weekend. Instead of running in the Shawnee State Invitational, the Tigers traveled to Danville, Ky. for the Centre Invitational.

SSU canceled its meet, but GC coach Lucas Garnett wanted to get his harriers back on the course and running the standard distances for both teams after the opening weekend where the women ran 1,000 meters more than normal and the men 2,000 less.

"We have to keep in mind that our toughest courses are early," Garnett said. "If we learn from these and keep running and training as we have, we will see the results by the end of the season."
