[Women's Indoor Track & Field] Women's Track & Field soaring to new heights

Comments

ANGOLA, INVanessa Rogers is making a habit of breaking her own record.  For the third time in as many meets, Rogers set a new standard in the Pole Vault with a vault of 11' 7 ¾" which ties her for the highest Pole Vault in the NAIA.  Knocking the bar off in her first attempt, Rogers' second attempt cleared and the new record was set.  Rogers attempted 11' 9" and made three solid vaults, but that still waits for the next meet.

SAU Cross Country phenom, Danae Dracht took first place in the One Mile run with an SAU Top Ten time of 5:19.41. SAU's Danielle Anderson finished second in the Mile with a time of 5:42.63.

Kelly Tripp finished first in the Triple Jump with a total distance of 33'9 ½", which is just shy of her own SAU record, and in the Long Jump, Andrea Finkbeiner leaped 16' 8 ¾" for first place in that event.

The Cougars will travel the short distance to Hillsdale College on Friday, February 7, to participate in the Wide Track Classic.  The Wide Track Classic is a two-day event on Hillsdale's new state of the art track boasting the widest turn of any indoor track in the country.
